GFM Scheme

GFM Scheme

The Institute has GFM (Guardian Faculty Member) Scheme where a group of students are placed under the guidance of GFM. The teacher renders guidance in studies, carrier planning and also addresses personal and psycho-social issues. The concept of GFM is basically designed with a purpose to bridge the gap between students, parents and institute. The students are advised to discuss, inform regarding any issue which they face in the institute. Let it be academic or non academic the GFM will listen the problem of the student and tries to address the grievance in the starting level itself.
In case the GFM feels that the issue needs to be handled in a higher level then they will inform the same to the head of the department and head of the institute respectively. This mechanism of addressing the grievance and solving it in the beginning level itself helps JSPM to avoid any major issue till date. GFM gives academic as well as personal advice; s/he is not necessarily able to address all the problems – but plays a role in guiding the student, putting the student in touch with the appropriate assistance. GFM can also try to overcome student’s personal problems, stress and weaknesses to improve weak or declining performance.
The institute appoints Guardian faculty member (GFM) for MBA & MCA programme separately which takes care after students’ mentorship and grievances. Through constant interaction with the students by the GFM’s there special needs, knowledge, skills are identified.
The institute monitors the student’s attendance through Guardian Faculty Members (GFM’s) and Individual faculty mentors. The absent students are individually called for discussion to find out the reasons for their absenteeism. If required their parents are called and both students and parents are counselled. GFM’s regular monitoring of the student attendance if students are absent for more the 4 days without intimation to GFM. GFM will duly inform the parents their wards are short of attendance. GFM’s are always in contact with the parents. They updated regular feedback about the students and parents are also encouraged to contact the GFM’s as and when required. GFM Keep the monthly attendance and internal assessment records of the students.
